Rapid Fuel (Self Serve Only) KRAP Pilot Reviews

November 13, 2024If you park at the GA ramp, you can walk to the Rapid Fuel building directly opposite the fuel pumps for access out of and into the security fence. To cross from outside to inside, you might need to call Rapid Fuel at (605) 209-5466 to be granted entry.

May 24, 2024I bought fuel at Rapid Fuel to secure a better price per gallon and left the aircraft overnight on the public transient ramp just south of the pumps. Rapid Fuel also features a pilot lounge that is currently under construction, shared with Medivac pilots who are on call and sleep upstairs, so please be mindful of noise levels. Uber service is available to town—our 7-mile journey cost $22 plus a tip—however, the pickup was quite slow, so initiate that request early while you are still securing your aircraft.

January 8, 2024Rapid Fuel offers reasonably priced fuel for an airport with commercial service. However, the 100LL hose is the type that constantly retracts. While this is convenient when fueling is complete, it is quite bothersome during the actual refueling process. Managing it is frustrating, often resulting in fuel spillage and the risk of damaging aluminum surfaces. It effectively becomes a two-person task, with the second person needed just to keep the hose steady.

May 12, 2023I thought I posted this review earlier; the fuel pump is now operational and has been functioning well for several months now.

January 8, 2023The self-serve 100LL pump has been non-operational for a couple of weeks, and nobody answers the telephone if someone wishes to inquire about its expected return to service.
