Excellent place for inexpensive fuel, but the control tower management is terrible. This was the worst tower controller experience I have encountered. On 5/23/25, the tower controller permitted six aircraft in the pattern to continue performing touch and goes while five aircraft waited over twenty minutes at the runway threshold for takeoff in the intense Texas heat. Avoid this airport and head to Temple (TPL) for affordable fuel and welcoming personnel.

Fuel is self-service, offering the best prices in the area. I stayed for a couple of nights.

Friendly tower operations in the morning. A rather grumpy gentleman in the late afternoon. This was the sole cross-country stop among several where the manager insisted I fold the wings on my Stemme S12 motor glider. I probably should have proceeded next door to Cutter Aviation's expansive ramp. Self-serve fuel prices were competitive, and the late afternoon managers provided excellent service.

Excellent experience today. The line crew member was very helpful (apologies, I do not recall his name) and addressed all my needs promptly.

A pleasant airport featuring a welcoming tower. Self-serve fuel was affordably priced. It was quite active due to ongoing flight training operations based there.
