Stopped in for fuel and to get something to eat; we were still on Mountain Time so we missed the restaurant as it had already closed. Herb went above and beyond!!! David & Jennifer Smith Aka: "Smith Flight Services"

I would stop here anytime I'm passing through. Herb went above and beyond, and is just a great guy. The diner is also good, but closes at 2:00.

One of the staff members met us at the pump and offered to fuel our aircraft. They were exceptionally friendly and helpful. We proceeded to the restaurant adjacent to the fueling station and enjoyed a very satisfying lunch or breakfast. I would certainly stop here again if I find myself in the vicinity.

The FBO changed ownership about a year ago and is now called Starlink. They have not adjusted their fuel price in twelve months. It used to be comparable to or lower than surrounding Texas airports, but that is no longer the case. Crew car availability is limited, with no overnight use permitted. We visited DUX in both May and August. They offered a favorable fuel rate, several crew cars available for overnight hotel transport, complimentary hangar space, and pleasant staff. Herb, we truly appreciated your service over the years; you were a capable airport manager and a great people person. We wish you the best.

Excellent dining option adjacent to Starlink, though they maintain no affiliation. The self-service fuel pump exhibits air pulsation in the line. Herb confirmed this is just how it operates, not an indication of low fuel. Do not anticipate receiving a loaner vehicle for accessing dining or lodging after standard hours. Herb leaves loaner car agreements and rules on the counter but withholds the keys and fails to provide necessary after-hours contact information. Consider utilizing the services of the alternative FBO; they are typically more accommodating.
