The self-serve pump was mostly functional today. This pump has two card readers; the chip reader was inoperative, but the magnetic strip reader functioned correctly. The gallons dispensed meter was also inoperative, though the pump did stop once the 20 gallons I requested were delivered. The clamp securing the grounding wire felt somewhat weak and detached while I was refueling. The runway surface is in excellent condition, featuring a noticeable slope (uphill when using Runway 21).

So, planning a cross-country flight from Louisiana with limited fuel stops on the direct route. I called the FBO and David answered the phone. I inquired about fuel availability and the status of the self-serve pumps, receiving the response, “Well, they’re working today.” I followed up asking if that implied they had experienced issues with them previously. He replied, “No, but all I can say is they’re working today.” Unsurprisingly, David missed out on a 100-gallon fuel sale.
