Atlas Aviation Tampa KTPF Pilot Reviews

We just returned from our trip to Tampa. We typically fly into TPA, but we chose Pete O Knight instead because of runway closures at TPA. It was a truly wonderful experience. It's a small airport situated within a large metropolitan area. It's only 15 minutes from our hotel near the airport. The personnel were extremely welcoming. We took on 20 gallons of fuel, and they waived all associated fees, including overnight parking costs. Who wouldn't appreciate this facility? We are certainly planning another visit soon.

Phenomenal FBO! Friendly, helpful staff—the airport is perfectly placed near downtown Tampa.

The TPA approach controllers were very friendly and easy to work with- helpful during the transition to landing. Atlas is an excellent FBO, with very courteous staff. They waived the overnight fee after a small fuel purchase, and we were given a choice of where to park overnight. The CFIs on site were friendly and willing to share insights on local departure procedures (VFR/IFR) and radio frequencies. Be mindful of the towers located southeast, and exercise caution regarding Macdill airspace and the traffic pattern for runways 04/36. KTPF is a convenient, quick airport for accessing Tampa. I will always return here happily.

The FBO staff and Go Rentals car service were excellent, as usual. Overnight parking is $50 for a twin-engine aircraft, though one night was waived with a 20-gallon fuel purchase. Clearance can be reached on the ground using a handheld radio or the aircraft radio on 119.8.
