This is a very quiet airport (especially on weekends) offering numerous approach options and a large, pleasant FBO with excellent service. Note that the tower is closed during the weekend, but obtaining a clearance by phone was straightforward.

Arrived at Pike, the FBO was new and clean. It took a moment to secure the crew car. The crew car, a sleeper Crown Victoria, had no associated fees—just top off the fuel tank. I drove into town to visit Hooks BBQ. Hooks BBQ was an intense, positive assault on the senses; the ribs were incredibly tender. A fantastic, understated FBO! The tower controller suggested Julie's Buffet, which I might check out next time.

Excellent experience getting fuel and lunch. The FBO facility is very nice. Service was fast. David provided a great lunch recommendation and a crew car. I recommend visiting Hooks Barbecue.
