Flew here as a destination to visit the Porcupines. Considered flying to Houghton, due to rental car availability, but after speaking to Lisa, a wonderfully helpful person, was informed that “Al’s Auto” in Bruce Crossing rents vehicles to visitors who fly into Ontonagon. A phone call and a couple of emails later, we had a vehicle waiting for us at the FBO upon arrival. Super simple, amazingly convenient, and an overall fabulous experience—call Lisa to arrange your arrival, or contact Als Auto directly at 906-827-3366. The car was solid and reliable. We stayed at the AmericInn in Silver City, right on Lake Superior. Another "would recommend." Breakfast was included, it has a bar and restaurant attached, and it is three miles from the Porcupines.
