07/19/23. Dropped in for fuel and lunch in town. Used the Crew Car from Airborne Aviation Services for the short drive. Everyone was polite and friendly, and the FBO was well air-conditioned. However... Buying fuel was a different matter. I selected the “Fill-Up” option on the payment terminal. When I finished my transaction, the machine was out of paper, so I received no receipt. Upon returning home, I reviewed my credit card statement and noticed a pending charge of $3500 from the FBO. If you purchase fuel, avoid using the fill-up option.

The “fill up” key at our location was customized to allow the customer to purchase over 500 gallons of fuel. It places a $3500.00 hold on the credit card until the transaction is fully processed. Typically, this takes one to two business days to reconcile. This option was intended for our Helibase large transport helicopters and fuel trucks requiring service. We have since deactivated the “fill up” key, so it is no longer accessible or an option.
