Finally landed at KHLX after overflying it for years. Quite a nice airport. The fuel pump operated perfectly and the price was very competitive. The manager was friendly, and the facilities are modern and very clean. Runway elevation is 2,600+msl, so density altitude should be considered during warm weather. The runway has a significant slope; takeoffs heading north are downhill. The manager mentioned that crosswinds can be challenging in the fall and winter seasons. Overall, a great general aviation airport.
