We stopped here while en route to Oshkosh. Ryan, the Manager, was fantastic; he truly treated us like family. He assisted us with fueling, stored our aircraft in his hangar, and allowed us to use the crew car overnight. The fuel costs were very competitive, and this location is highly recommended for any pilot needing a stopover.

The airport manager, Ryan, is an experienced pilot who flies a King Air 350 out of KDNS. When we arrived, he assisted us with fueling our King Air 200. He then secured our aircraft in a hangar—no fee for hangar space due to our fuel purchase. Ryan also permitted us to use the crew car overnight. Denison is the hometown of Donna Reed, the star of It's A Wonderful Life. A small museum is located downtown, though it is currently closed. The windows of the museum display some photographs from Ms. Reed's life. We lodged at the Cobblestone Inn.

Although my spouse and I arrived on Friday after the FBO was closed, I had called ahead, and the attendant (city employee) thoughtfully left the courtesy car keys for me to retrieve. Even though we didn't spend any time in the FBO itself, the facility appeared clean and well organized. Furthermore, even though I never did meet any city staff (closed on the weekend.), the attendant maintained communication with me via text messages – this worked out very well!
