Lakeland Aviation of Minocqua KARV Pilot Reviews

Visited in August. Was charged excessive fees, far beyond what was listed in ForeFlight. When I inquired, they stated they were unaware of ForeFlight's data source. Additionally, I asked if their fee schedule was posted online; it was not. All the staff were quite pleasant. Nevertheless, being overcharged with a smile remains being overcharged.

If you are looking to visit one of the most expensive General Aviation locations in Wisconsin to park or tie down your twin-engine aircraft, consider stopping at KARV. The fees here are excessive. They charge $250 for ramp use—this fee is waived only if you purchase a 150-gallon minimum and pay almost $2 more per gallon than other comparable locations in Wisconsin (using FF fuel/app) for Jet A. Even after that, wait until checkout to discover they also charge a $75 per night tie-down fee that they refuse to waive. I also rented a vehicle here. The younger staff members were excellent, though! There is a clear reason the ramp was deserted on a summer weekend! It will likely remain empty with charges like these!!

I stayed for four nights with a Citation M2 in mid-July. I had called ahead regarding potentially needing a hangar and was quoted $300 per night. That seemed reasonable enough based on my previous experiences. However, I was billed $125 nightly for tie-down ramp space, plus a $300 ramp fee. ForeFlight indicated the ramp fee would be $125 and waived with the purchase of 100 gallons of fuel. I was informed the fee was $300, waived with 250 gallons purchased. They claimed they had no knowledge of where ForeFlight obtained their figures.

The facility is nice, however, the self-service 100LL pumps do not accept payment at the pump. Additional fees apply for after-hours service.

Efficient and friendly service! The hangars are warm and Jesse was more than willing to help when our trip got pushed forward a few hours due to weather. Renting a car from the FBO was super easy and the vehicle was very clean.
