The Line Shack KADM Pilot Reviews

My flight in the C185 was excellent. The pre-flight briefing was thorough, covering all aspects of the flight plan. We had a slight delay due to some unexpected maintenance on the aircraft, specifically concerning the avionics panel on N56789, but the ground crew handled it professionally. I met John there, and he mentioned that the instructor Mary was great during his recent training session. The landing at KADM was smooth despite some crosswinds. I highly recommend this service.

Pleasant FBO at the field. They offer everything a pilot might need after hours, and the facility is very nice indeed. Coffee, showers, a comfortable pilot lounge, clean restrooms, complimentary bottled water, and even a fitness center are available... but seriously, why is there no microwave oven? They seem to have everything else, except for that essential appliance! Overall, a highly recommended stop. I also understand that Saturday and Sunday during the day are the best times to visit.

I neglected to mention one drawback. The self-service fuel system is troublesome. It occasionally fails to issue receipts, has poorly designed buttons, and is selective about the credit cards it accepts.

Unfortunately, the front wheel tire went flat on my PA32. There was no maintenance available on the field for tires or tubes. Travis from the Line Shack was extremely helpful. He and another employee assisted us in pushing my aircraft off the taxiway onto the tarmac (in 104-degree weather!). They connected us with Sam, a very kind local pilot who flew his SR22 to ferry us to KGYI to collect a new tire and tube. Another lifesaver, Danny, a retired mechanic who still takes occasional jobs, worked diligently in the heat to install our new tire. We experienced misfortune but encountered some wonderful people!
