This is a great little stop, though it is heavily used for training operations. I observed four aircraft in the pattern executing touch-and-goes and missed approaches. Upon landing, three planes were queued for the self-service fuel pump. The line personnel were constantly assisting us, pumping our fuel while we waited inside the FBO. Perhaps that level of service is cheaper than maintaining a dedicated fuel truck.

Stayed overnight for two nights - very reasonable full-service fueling and parking. The staff were helpful and friendly. A special mention to Caleb! I will certainly return whenever visiting or enjoying the Gulf of America again.

I completed my PPL training at Lightning. The FBO facilities are maintained impeccably; they offer numerous aircraft for rental at competitive rates. The flight instructors are highly knowledgeable and professional, always ready to address any queries. There is no other flight school or FBO in South Alabama that matches their level of availability and professionalism at such an excellent price point.

Landed here due to weather, and the FBO allowed us to use their courtesy car to head into town for lunch while the weather cleared. After the storm passed, moisture entered the pitot static system, and the staff assisted us so we could depart safely. Truly excellent FBO! Furthermore, I strongly suggest visiting Lamberts for lunch if you have the chance.

Excellent service and friendly staff members. Fuel prices here are the best in the region. I look forward to my next visit!
