The self-service 'Fuelmaster' pump was quite straightforward for the cross-country flight we conducted last week. The challenging aspect is its placement, situated right at the corner of the ramp area. I managed to maneuver the aircraft around using engine power to facilitate an easier departure, but if departure planning isn't precise, one risks a collision or needing the towbar for a slight push. Furthermore, the transient tie-downs are not conveniently located near the fuel pumps—though the tie-downs do include ropes, which is a small plus! All in all, it remains a fantastic airport and a convenient stopover for a cross-country trip. Although we did not require it, the proximity of the Quality Inn for an overnight weather delay stop was appreciated—who needs a crew car when lodging is within walking distance!
